The W.V. Roundtable Hardesty Leadership Scholarship

Purpose: The West Virginia Roundtable David C. and Susan Hardesty, Jr. Leadership Scholarship was established in April 2008 to provide annual cash awards toward tuition for deserving West Virginia residents, one male and one female, who are enrolled as full-time undergraduates at West Virginia University with a minor in Leadership Studies or who have completed course work in leadership classes. The Leadership Studies Program offers an undergraduate minor through the Division of Public Administration, School of Applied Social Sciences, Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, which is aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of students. The program combines exposure to research and theory based leadership literature, interaction with experienced leaders, and opportunities for students to engage in applied and service learning actives to help students develop and improve their own leadership skills.

Award: The annual award of $1,200 to each student (one male and one female) can be applied to full time study for the summer session or semester immediately following the spring award notification. Awards will be received by April 30 each year, and recipients will be announced and recognized at the annual West Virginia Leadership Conference.

Selection Procedure: Selection of the recipients will be made by the Leadership Studies program at the West Virginia University Eberly College of Arts & Sciences in consultation with the WVU Fiancial Aid Office. The Selection Committee for the Puskar Leadership Scholars may also serve as the selection committee for the this scholarship.
